About the CFEHUB
The Pacific CFE Hub is a an exchange for First Nations Commercial Fishing Enterprises (CFEs) to collaborate and share information. On the Hub, CFEs can:
- Find important resources related to the PICFI program
- Connect with other CFEs
- Get up to date on the latest fishing news
- Find out about new opportunities such as fishing equipment for sale, jobs available, and leasing opportunities

Q: What is PICFI? What is a CFE?
A: The Pacific Integrated Commercial Fisheries Initiative (PICFI) is an initiative of the Canadian Department of Fisheries and Oceans (DFO) that aims to support environmentally sustainable and commercially viable commercial fisheries for First Nations communities. The program supports First Nations Commercial Fishing Enterprises (CFEs) by providing access to fishing licences and quota, and by providing support for capacity building and business development. There are currently 25 CFEs throughout British Columbia, with 96 First Nations participating.
Q: I’m not a part of a Commercial Fishing Enterprise, can I get access to the Hub?
A: At the moment, access to the CFE hub is limited to CFE members. If you would like to get in touch with a CFE about a potential business opportunity, please visit the Contact Page.
Q: Who manages the CFE hub?
A: The CFE hub is managed by the Business Development Team (BDT), in collaboration with the 25 member CFEs. The role of the BDT is to support CFEs to become effective, sustainable businesses.
